چکیده
In this study, the effect of rarefied region in rotor centrifuge was investigated. a centrifuge, feed inlet is positioned area. The continuum hypothesis not valid area; therefore, it desires to be analyzed by probabilistic methods like Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC). present Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) method used simulate area, and DSMC employed An implicit coupled density-based scheme performed for CFD method, Variable Hard Sphere (VHS) diffuse model were method. Also, local Knudsen number defined determine interface location between continuum-rarefied regions (r=0.086 m). comparison results pure CFD-DSMC illustrated large differences flow properties regions. showed that value separation power obtained from solution 10.5% different.

Gas Mixing Simulation in a T-Shape Micro Channel Using The DSMC Method
Gas mixing in a T-shape micro mixer has been simulated using the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. It is considered that the adequate mixing occurs when the mass composition of the species, CO or N2, deviates below 1 % from their equilibrium composition. The mixing coefficient is defined as the ratio of the mixing length to the main channel’s height. As the inlet Kn increases, while ...

15 صفحه اولThe Indication of Two-Phase Flow Pattern and Slug Characteristics in a Pipeline Using CFD Method
Multiphase flows are commonly encountered in oil and gas industries. The transport of multiphase flow causes the formation of slug, the increase of pressure drop and the possibility of phase changes therefore, a set of simulation runs was performed to predict flow regimes in a horizontal pipeline, and the results were compared with the Baker chart. The effects of small downward inclinations of ...
متن کاملA Coupled DSMC/Navier-Stokes Method for Multiscale Analysis of Gas Flow in Microfluidic Systems
A multiscale method that couples direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method with Navier-Stokes equations is presented. The multiscale method is based on the Schwarz coupling of the DSMC and Navier-Stokes subdomains. Dirichlet boundary conditions are used at the coupling interfaces. The Navier-Stokes equations are solved using a scattered point based finite cloud method. Data interpolation betw...
متن کاملCFD Modeling of the Feed Distribution System of a Gas-Solid Reactor
Granular flow simulation using CFD has received a lot of attention in recent years. In such cases, CFD is either, coupled with Discrete Element Method (DEM) techniques for appropriate incorporation of inter-particle collisions, or the Eulerian CFD approach is used in which granular particles are treated as they were fluid. In the present study, a CFD analysis was performed...
